If you are like many other people, you probably want to be able to find a great hotel when you are vacationing in Haida Gwaii. Since there are many different establishments to choose from, it becomes increasingly important to be able to come up with a few pros and cons for each one. After all, you want to choose the best spot for your family to be able to unwind after a long, exhausting day touring the beautiful scenery and attractions. That is why you should consider several different things before deciding on the hotel that you want to book.

First, pricing is the most important factor. Check online or consider calling the different establishments to get a feel for how much their rooms will set you back. Once you have decided on which ones are charging a fair price, think about amenities. Do you want a resort that brings your family in contact with an all-inclusive kind of environment, or is the room simply for refueling for the night before heading out again?

Finally, consider location. Depending upon the kinds of events you might take part in while on vacation, there is a chance that you want to be located in a more centralized area to keep from having to drive everywhere. Walking is a great way to enjoy a new place!

Before you set your Home Security System and head to the islands of British Columbia you’ve got to get ready for the trip of a lifetimehave you done your research? Here are a few ways to ensure you’ve planned the best vacation possible before you ever even step on the plane.
Hire a Travel Agent: Travel Agents may seem like a thing of the past but they can help a lot and even save you money. Particularly if you like specialty activities (i.e. all outdoors, all food-related, etc.) they’ve got connections to help you have out of the box experiences.
Do Research Online: Get on the web to find out what other people are saying about their trips to the islands. Get some tips on what hotels are best for what activities and which restaurants to skip.
Hire a Local: Use the internet to find a local in the islands to show you around – you’ll often get the most authentic experience this way. A few days with someone who knows the area and you’ll feel like you really live here!

The First Nation archipelago of Haida Gwaii is a unique destination in the Canadian province of British Columbia. The islands were originally named the Queen Charlotte Islands after the ship that brought the British to the islands in the 1700s.

Fur trading was the dominant activity of the Europeans. Sea otter pelts were particularly prized in Europe and China. Eventually the economy of the region shifted to destructive timber harvesting. This change was seen as a threat by the First Nation natives of the islands.

After much protest of the massive deforestation of the islands, the Haida Tribe won rights to their land. In 2010, the Canadian government renamed the islands Haida Gwaii, the Islands of the People. In honor of the efforts of the Haida tribe to preserve their way of life, the United Nations created a World Heritage Site that included the ancient Haida villages.

Haida Gwaii’s Islands of Wonder national park has been voted best park in North America. Tourists can explore the natural scenery and local Indian life. A key feature of the islands are the many totems that are scattered around. Other attractions include the many longhouses that are located in the Haida villages.

Accommodations of all types can be found in the Haida Gwaii area. They include hotels, lodges, bed and breakfast inns and campsites. Tourists can choose easily between a luxury vacation or roughing it during their visit.

The Haida Gwaii islands abound with First Nation Culture and natural wonder. Give credit to the Haida Indians for their successful efforts to preserve the primitive beauty of their island home.

Haida Gwaii is a group of islands, located on the Northern part of British Columbia, Canada. Haida Gwaii is formerly known as Queen Charlotte Islands and is a gorgeous place to travel. The islands consist of quaint villages, white sand beaches and much more. The BC government changed the name of these islands in 2009 for historical reasons. The name was not officially changed; however, until June 3, 2010, when the Haida Gwaii Reconciliation Act was signed.
Haida Gwaii is an outdoorsman’s paradise. These islands are considered unique rainforests, and have a lot to offer for those who enjoy outdoor sports. People, who visit these islands, often come to kayak, fish, bike and hike. There are two main islands here, Graham Island and Moresby Island, but there are over 150 smaller islands in this region as well. Visitors often take advantage of seeing the outdoors by visiting the Gwaii Haanas National Park and Haida Protected Area. In this area, fishermen catch salmon and many other types of fish.
Guests, visiting the islands, can travel there by either plane or boat. Because these are islands, there are not roads that travel there. There are several ferries that offer rides for guests, and there are two main airports to bring guests there by plane. When people visit Haida Gwaii, they often stay at various types of accommodations. There are numerous options, including rustic cabins, motels, lodges, cottages, guest houses, bed and breakfasts and beach huts. When booking plans to visit these islands, guests should keep in mind that the busiest time of year is their summer season, which lasts from May through September. Many types of accommodations actually close during the winter months. Also located in this area, are numerous campgrounds. These are ideal for people who visit this area for outdoor activities, such as fishing, boating and kayaking.

Haida Gwaii, formerly known as Queen Charlotte Islands, is an island chain situated off the coast of British Columbia. The new name means ‘Islands of the People’ Haida Gwaii home to Native Americans of Aboriginese extraction with its language only spoken by about 50 of its senior citizens.

Haida Gwaii is a mecca for outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy fishing, crabbing, kayaking, whale watching, hiking, biking and surfing. Hikers can scale Mt Genevieve with the help of strategically-placed steps, ladders and ropes. At the top of the climb, an awe-inspiring view of Alaska awaits them.Check out this link here.

Sights of interest include Haida Heritage Museum highlighting the history and culture of the Haida and the taxidermy of a white raven at Port Clements Museum.

Delkatla Wildlife Sanctuary is a haven for plovers, sandpipers and rarely-seen birds such as tufted ducks and cattle egrets. Which birds visitors may see depends on the migratory pattern of various birds sheltering there.

For music lovers, the annual August Edge of The World Music Festival held at Tlell Fall Fairgrounds offers a unique experience with music from such genres as folk, rock, blues and country. A highlight of the festival is the nightly performance of Haida song and dance.

Haida Gwaii is a gorgeous island with a plethora of intriguing attractions to thrill and delight anyone. The natural beauty of the island makes everything an attraction, but the main draw for visitors are Darwin Sound and Juan Perez Sound.

The fantastic waterways of Juan Perez Sound and Darwin Sound are located in the north of the Gwaii Haanas National Park. They offer spectacular mountain lakes that provide the perfect locales for amazing hikes to alpine areas with low elevations and breathtaking views. The favorite watering hole for many is Anna Lake on the Quan Perez Sound’s scenic western side. Anna Lake is the perfect place to take a refreshing swim. Travelers can also explore the remnants of mining sites and canning operations from bygone eras.

One of the best places to take a challenging hike is Yatza Mountain. This mountain looms over Island Bay and offers hikers great views of the west coast and the shimmering Victoria Lakes. From halfway up the mountain, hikers can enjoy fantastic views of the Skincuttle Inlet and the Burnaby Straits.

Whether a traveler is interested in enjoying nature’s wonders or learning about history, Haida Gwaii offers attractions for anyone who needs to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of modern life.
